When design agency Jones Knowles Ritchie (JKR) were tasked with creating the visual identity for Green Park Brands’ new Hippeas healthy snack range, they knew the promotional items for these organic chickpea puffs would have to be outta sight.
The gluten-free Hippeas brand is a modern take on the hippie scene from the 1960s, with tongue-in-cheek flavours such as In Herbs We Trust (Rosemary, Oregano and Thyme), Far Out Fajita (Chilli, Paprika and Cumin) and Pepper Power (pepper and sea salt).
To help launch Hippeas into UK stores like Boots and Holland & Barrett this month, the brand’s logo and signature yellow colouring is also featuring in a selection of promotional items including banners, placards, posters, shopping bags, T-shirts, window signs and, of course, a Hippeas-branded VW camper van.
“We wanted to create something charismatic and relevant for today,” reveals Stephen McDavid, design director at JKR. “For a brand to be big, it needs to be brave and confident, and our design reflects that sense of ambition and aspiration.”
