Research conducted by our friends at the British Promotional Merchandise Association (BPMA) at Marketing Week Live 2016 has revealed some fascinating insights into how brands are currently using promotional clothing in the UK.

  • 91% of respondents use branded clothing
  • 62% use it to make their staff easily distinguishable
  • 46% at exhibitions
  • 42% to boost brand awareness
  • 35% for staff uniforms
  • 27% for promotion purposes
  • 26% for giveaways
  • 18% for staff fun days
  • 17% for conferences
  • 14% for charity events

The average annual spend on promotional clothing for 43% of the respondents ranged between £1,000 and £5,000. Only 6% spent more than £15,000 on these items.

When it comes to purchasing branded garments, the BPMA’s research revealed that most brands prefer quality over price or style.
