Fulfilling a lifetime’s ambition and raising money for a great cause at the same time, Premier’s supply chain and purchasing coordinator Laura successfully completed a 10,000ft tandem skydive yesterday on behalf of the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust.
Laura’s work colleagues Danni and Nikki were there to offer (ground) support, and many other members of the Premier team also contributed money and best wishes to her charity skydive.
Established in 1997, the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance Trust is a charity providing a free life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for the critically ill and injured of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. Today, for example, one of the Essex Air Ambulance helicopters attended a male patient trauma incident in Stowmarket.
Laura’s Charity Skydive
“I wanted to do something that will help others so I thought that jumping out of a plane would be the perfect opportunity,” revealed Laura on her MyDonate fundraising page prior to the jump. “Those who know me well will know how scared I am of flying, so as well as facing my fears, I will also be raising money for a great cause. I am fortunate that I have not required the assistance of our air ambulance so far. However it is a vital service that helps save many lives. We never know when us or our loved ones may need their help.”
Once the skydive was over, a joyous and excited Laura told her colleagues at Premier:
“It all went well, I am still here! Originally I set my target to £500. Wasn’t sure I was going to hit it, but I have raised £529 (plus once the gift aid is added on it’s almost a total of £600). Thank you all for your donations.”
