For National Stationery Week Premier wanted to do something extra special to support the “get kids writing” campaign. (click here to find out more about national stationery week)
Premier decided that donating 1000 pens to schools in the area and having our Managing Director Jamie Marshall hold an assembly for the children about how important writing and stationery is, would be beneficial to the children. On top of this, we also offered prizes to all the schools for a week-long handwriting competition based on pupils current class topics.
We contacted the schools and got permission to hold an assembly and hand out pens to the children here’s how our week went:
Monday 27th April 2015 – Jamie Marshall (MD) attended Chappel school to talk to children about stationery week and the importance of handwriting. Premier donated 70 pens to the school.
We had these comments from Sandra Hipgrave, mother to Thomas and Joe, pupils of Chappel Primary School, who received 60 pens on Monday morning, said, “I think it’s great that a local company are supporting our schools in this way. The boys are really excited about the competition and it’s lovely to see them off the Xbox and writing instead.”
Tuesday 28th April 2015 – Jamie Marshall (MD) & Ryan Askew (Sales Manager) attended Kelvedon St Marys Primary School to talk to children about stationery week and the importance of handwriting. Premier donated 340 pens to the school. Then Jamie & Ryan visited Feering C of E Primary School and donated 150 pens to the Head Boy & Girl of the school. Here are some images from our fantastic day all the children loved shaking hands!
Wednesday 29th April 2015 – Baynards Primary School in Tiptree received 70 pens from Premier.
Thursday 30th April 2015 – St Peters C of E Primary School, Coggeshall received 300 pens from Premier.
All in all, our week was a success and we hope that we have encouraged kids to put down their phones/tablets and pick up a pen. Our Managing Director Jamie Marshall said: “Premier are proud to support the local community and where better than helping the next generation with their writing! We’re passionate about pens and we are happy to share them!”
